SPECIAL SESSION OF CHURCH CONFERENCE:
June 8th at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary of Luverne UMC, a special called session of the Church Conference was convened for the purpose of voting on the recommendation of the Building Committee for the construction of a new Family Life Center at Luverne UMC. The vote was 68 to 21 in favor of the new building. Within the next several weeks you will begin seeing construction starting. Keep watching the "Building Plans" link to the left on the Home page for pictures and updates.

"Military Ministry" - Army Rangers serving in Delta Force, spend hours flying to and from bases in Europe to be dropped in "hot spots" in Iraq and Afghanistan. During these flights, they are able to watch DVD movies on personal DVD players. LUMC is starting a ministry to send DVD movies to soldiers in an Army Ranger unit where one member has ties to LUMC. If you would like to send DVD's or give money so DVD's can be purchased, make your check payable to LUMC and on the "For" line, write "Military Ministry". Please make sure the movies you send are rated G, PG, or PG-13, are not horror movies, war movies or movies that degrade any religious/ethinic group of people. We will forward these on to the Army Ranger Unit.
